While most garden designers use similar techniques, the precise processes and documentation used by Garden Asylum have been derived specifically by the designer, Ruth Hill. This methodology has been created to maximise client involvement and make your experience as enjoyable and trouble-free as possible. No other garden designer currently offers the exact same service.

Garden Asylum provides a four phase procedure consisting of:

  • Client consultation and comprehensive site survey
  • Design requirements analysis
  • Design proposal
  • Design solution

The design proposal stage provides the client with a preview of the designer’s intentions with respect to the design of their garden. This enables the client to highlight any aspects of the design that they have queries or objections about.

This, in turn, helps the designer by ensuring that they do not spend unnecessary time and effort producing detailed research and documentation regarding parts of the design that, ultimately, the client may not like.

Sometimes, if certain site characteristics make it difficult to exactly meet the client’s brief, the designer may decide to provide more than one potential design so that the client can make an informed choice.

This service is provided at no extra cost. It does, however, require considerable additional effort on the part of the designer and is, therefore, provided only when the designer feels it is necessary.
