While most garden designers use similar techniques, the precise processes and documentation used by Garden Asylum have been derived specifically by the designer, Ruth Hill. This methodology has been created to maximise client involvement and make your experience as enjoyable and trouble-free as possible. No other garden designer currently offers the exact same service.

Garden Asylum provides a four phase procedure consisting of:

• Client consultation and comprehensive site survey
• Design requirements analysis
• Design proposal
• Design solution

The Design solution document provides detailed information about the design which the clients have indicated that they would like to have implemented at their site.

In addition to the overhead plan and perspective diagrams provided in the previous Design proposal document, this document includes:

• Specific measurements that will be needed by a landscaper – or whoever ultimately builds the garden – in order to implement it accurately
• If a planting plan has been requested, planting scheme details including plant names, numbers, seasonal interest, ultimate height and spread and estimated cost will be given
• Estimated budget for plants and materials. This covers only those items used in the construction of the garden. Labour, delivery and any necessary equipment hire costs are not accounted for, and should be included in the estimate provided by the landscaper.

The Design solution constitutes the final stage in the design process. Everything that the client needs to instruct a landscaper to construct the garden is contained within this document. Payment for the designer’s services is now due.
