This garden was designed to stimulate the imaginations of young minds. Initially constructed at Blenheim Palace as part of Channel 4’s Great Garden Challenge, it has since been dismantled and donated to a local children’s hospice.
Different planets are represented by circles of playsafe EPDM rubber, while child-friendly planting echoes these colours in a smorgasbord of textures, shapes, scents, sounds and tastes.
Play opportunities also abound, with ‘twinkle star’ stepping-stone log poles, a covered sandpit, mini stage (for little stars) and a 'black hole' bamboo grove hideaway.
And when they’re ready to come back down to earth, a reclaimed funfair ride makes a garden seat fit to launch any child’s imagination into hyper-drive. |
